Do you think it's improper for an adult male to refer to a teenage girl as "babe" or "sweety" or "honey"?

It is inappropriate for any adult to use pet names for children....not b/c YOU mean harm, but b/c some men do and no parent knows the difference....there have been numerous instances of coaches being pulled from girls teams for using pet names for the girls...despite years of dedicated service....it is just no longer appropriate.
